Weekend round up

Well Sale Sharks came back from Cardiff thoroughly beaten. They lost 15-32, but were never really in the match. The tries came from Rory Lamont and Lee Thomas, and Charlie Hodgson kicked the rest of their points. This was the first pool match in the AngloWelsh Cup, and has meant that qualification for the tournament will be a struggle. Others in the Sharks group are Bath (playing at Edgeley on Friday coming) and Leicester. Still, only one game down, and all to play for.

Phillipe Saint Andre has already announced that Friday will feature some big names returning: Chabal, Cueto, Sheridan. Great. Cue loads of awful headline puns about Sharks in the Bath.

Sale FC first XV lost away to Wirral, 10-20 in an unfortunate game. They now lie seventh in the table, Played seven won three. Time to get behind the lads! Come on Saaaale!

Last night saw Premiership A league action return to Heywood road, and the Sale Jets were comprehensively out played by the visting Worcester Warriors. The Warriors won the game 15-34, but that said, Sale nevertheless showed great spirit to fight back in the second half, having lost the first half 0-22. Jets tries came from Fessia, Garner and Waywell.
