Stockport Vistitor Guide

Some months ago the SSSC committee were invited to attend the Council's Tourism and Leisure Partnership meetings. As a result of the relationships we have developed there is now a Sale Sharks display in the Stockport Tourist Office (well worth a visit if you haven't been there before), Chris Jones joined other local heroes to take part in a photo shoot to publicise the new Stockport Mug which will be available soon, and a lot of kids in Matale have received gifts donated by locals and shipped to them with money donated by Sale Sharks Supporters. There are also plans to take Sharky and some of the players to the Tourist Office.

Last Friday night the Tourism Partnership launched their new visitor's guide to Stockport called "A taste of Stockport"- as a resident of the borough for 20 years I was amazed to discover how little I knew. The guide includes information on Sale Sharks. The best bit though - a picture of Jason Robinson, rugby ball tucked under his arm, on the front cover!

It may be just a small step but it would be good to think it was Stockport's first step towards becoming a rugby town.
